URBAN LANDSCAPES DRAWING WORKSHOP

As a part of my ongoing creative futures project, I ran my first drawing workshop. This workshop was conducted with my fellow Fine Art second years at HSAD. This was the first time I delivered the workshop to a group of people. The purpose of the workshop was to get the group to learn a range of drawing techniques while creating a drawn version of what I do through photography and painting. As drawing is a smaller part of my personal process, it is still a fundamental part of how I create my paintings specifically. The group all got to work together to create a panoramic landscape that had a number of different locations of their own choosing, thereby creating an alternative urban landscape. All of those who took part had varying levels of ability when it comes to drawing, which allowed me to teach the group about the fundamentals of drawing such as scale, perspective, tone and even drawing methods to achieve a good outcome. My aim for this workshop is to take it into primary and secondary schools to teach children and young people about drawing in a similar way as well as in an effort to put drawing back into art education at a younger age.
