VISUAL ARTIST EXPLORING HUMAN CONNECTIONS TO PLACES THROUGH MEMORIES. PRIMARILY THROUGH THE USE OF PAINTING AND DRAWING.
Memories From the Shed
2019 - Present
This project explores my personal childhood memories of being on the allotment with my grandad, dad and their friends. As my grandad and his friends are no longer here, the only thing that remains is his and his friends sheds. I have decided to document their current state through painting and drawing. I have been documenting both their interior and exterior.
Urban Landscape Paintings
Paintings I have created through the Urban Landscapes project. The mixed media paintings below are my painted representations of the urban landscape I find myself in. They are directly affected by the photographs I take, from content to colour choice.
Urban Landscape Photographs
This is a selection of the photographs that I have created throughout the Urban Landscapes project. I like to work in both colour and black and white. All of the photographs seen here have had a direct impact on the paintings I have created. All of the locations captured have a connection to me through stories that my family have told about their working lives and how they see changes in the urban landscape we live in. It also is a visual representation of my connection to certain places in my local area through the stories I have heard.
